2012 NFL Draft Coverage - Kendall Wright, Tennesee TitansWritten by Cameron Sparks
Pick 20 - Kendall Wright - Tennessee Titans Cameron Sparks: Kendall Wright is a speedster that may have landed in the perfect situation. With Kenny Britt coming back from injury, an early year injury at that, Britt should draw plenty of coverage outside as he was a monster in 2011 statistically prior to his injury. Defenses know of Britt now and will shift but Tennessee also has Nate Washington to keep a man outside opposite Britt, leaving a nice middle option for Hasselbeck or Locker to find Kendall Wright or an emerging Jared Cook. The best part of it for Wright is he won't be changing from his natural playing style, being allowed to step right into the slot for the Titans, producing for them almost immediately. With CJ2K in the backfield though, there may not be enough touches to go around that give Wright enough to produce enough fantasy numbers for you in 2012. Best scenario, he becomes your WR3 this year. Cian Fahey: Whether it is Jake Locker or Matt Hasselbeck under center in Tennessee the Titans have added a wide receiver who should have a huge amount of success from the onset. Wright is a Santonio Holmes clone who should benefit a huge amount from playing in between Nate Washington and the returning Kenny Britt. Wright will have plenty of opportunities to make plays. Projection: 850 yards, 6 touchdowns, 45 receptions. Powered by Web Agency Add new comment

2012 NFL Draft Coverage - Michael Floyd, Arizona CardinalsWritten by Cameron Sparks
Michael Floyd - Arizona Cardinals - Pick 13 Cameron Sparks: Guess who just became the most wide open wide receiver in America? Arizona selects Floyd and with the coverage Larry Fitzgerald sees in Arizona, Floyd will immediately have an opportunity to make an impact. The downside, Kolb will look like a similar QB Floyd has seen in Jimmy Clausen. The upside? Larry Fitzgerald makes even Kolb/Skelton look good meaning he'll help Floyd as well. no better player he can learn from than Fitz. I'd temper the numbers in year one but look for similaraties between Floyd and Julio Jones' rookie year. Cian Fahey: Floyd is an outstandingly gifted physical receiver who will be able to manhandle second choice cornerbacks at the professional level. He has landed in the perfect spot to get single coverage playing across from Larry Fitzgerald. The only question mark remains over the quarterback position and whether Kevin Kolb/John Skelton can get him the ball often enough. Projection: 750 yards, 7 touchdowns, 50 receptions. 2012 NFL Draft Coverage - Ryan Tannehill, Miami DolphinsWritten by Cian Fahey
Ryan Tannehill - Miami Dolphins - Pick 5 Cian Fahey: The Dolphins were obviously in desperate need of a quarterback and Tannehill became their guy. Despite being 19th overall on Mike Mayock's board and having a second round grade from some scouts, the Dolphins take him in the top 10. Playing in that division is going to be really tough for Tannehill as a rookie and the Dolphins have very few legitimate weapons for him to work with. David Garrard should be the starter this year, or Matt Moore. Projection: 400 yards, 2 touchdowns, 4 interceptions. Kevin Nelson: I do not know how much I believe Ryan Tannehill will play in his rookie season. He does not have much experience and is very raw. Does he have talent? Absolutely. But he has a lot of work to do and not to mention Miami doesn’t exactly have a plethora of weapons around him after trading Brandon Marshall. I do not think Tannehill will be a factor in fantasy this upcoming season. Powered by Web Agency
2012 NFL Draft Coverage - Justin Blackmon, Jacksonville JaguarsWritten by Kevin Nelson
Justin Blackmon - Jacksonville Jaguars - Pick 5 Kevin Nelson: Justin Blackmon seems to be an explosive talent. The problem is, he isn’t AJ Green, or Calvin Johnson, or Larry Fitzgerald, etc. Rookie wide receivers have had much more success recently because of the opening up of the passing game and because of that Blackmon could have immediate success. The fit is not ideal for me though. Gabbert did not show me anything last year to suggest he is a QB you want throwing to your fantasy wide out. The good news is, he should be the focus of plenty of targets. The bad news is, he should be the focus of plenty of defenses. I can tell you one thing, if Blackmon can start quick and scare some of those defenses, MJD is going to be very happy. As for Blackmon, because of the talent, potential targets, and the type of passing league we have turned into, I would probably look for Blackmon as a high upside WR3. Michael J. Igyarto: First WR taken off the board and with good reason. Justin will be the #1 almost immediately, but I don't know how his immediate fantasy impact will be because of the current QB situation in Jacksonville. Has major potential, and should be considered a mid-rounds selection in fantasy drafts this season. You can gamble, but nobody should bet on Blaine Gabbert. Cian Fahey: Blackmon had an unbelievably productive final season in college setting school records at Oklahoma State University. Despite his fast forty time at the combine, that speed doesn't completely translate onto the field. Separation is Blackmon's biggest issue at the next level but his physical build will allow him to rack up the receptions. Now that the Rams have drafted Blackmon, he should be a monster in the redzone as Sam Bradford throws with fine touch on the football but will struggle in general play being regularly double teamed. He's not exactly what the Rams need from a football point of view but he should be able to improve that offense to some degree.
Projection: 675 yards receiving, 7 touchdowns, 70 receptions. Powered by Web Agency
2012 NFL Draft Coverage - Trent Richardson, Cleveland BrownsWritten by Cian Fahey
Trent Richardson - Cleveland Browns - Pick 3 Kevin Nelson: You can lock it up right now. Trent Richardson will be the highest rated rookie on my fantasy board this upcoming season. Rookie running backs typically make the quickest transition to begin with and when you add in Richardson’s size, speed, and talent level, there is no reason not to put him at the top. Just one short year ago Peyton Hills was ranked as a consensus second/third round choice. With no real competition in sight, I see no reason to rank Richardson any lower. He can play all 3 downs, he will get the ball at the goal line, and the Browns have an above average offensive line. With the holdout, new addition in Bush, I personally would take Richardson above Matt Forte at this point. That is how much I like this kid and this situation. The running back position is not very deep this year, especially with bell cows, and this is a supremely talented one. Love this. Cian Fahey: The next Adrian Peterson is not worth drafting in the top five if you are an NFL team, but he should be a hot commodity for fantasy fans. Richardson combines explosion, hard running, ball security and the ability to make receptions out of the back-field to succeed anywhere. Richardson is easily the most talented skill position player in this draft class, he should have no issues adjusting to the NFL right away. The Browns really needed a runner and Peyton Hillis showed the kind of success players can have in Cleveland two years ago. Playing in the AFC North is no longer as problematic for running backs as it used to be however the Browns' lack of talent on the outside will allow teams to zone in on him. It may be a tough rookie year for the running back, but he should be a viable starting fantasy back. Especially if the Browns pick up someone to help him later in the draft. Projection: 850 yards rushing, 8 touchdowns, 2 fumbles. 400 yards receiving, 3 touchdowns. Cameron Sparks: One of the best backs to arrive since AP, there's a reason why Richardson climbed up draft boards and the Browns made the right move in taking him. He has tremendous promise and his versatility makes him their number 1 threat immediately. They also didn't have to mortgage their future to receive him. Look out for Richardson to try and make an immediate impact in 2012! Powered by Web Agency
